Weekly Recommendations

Escape to McCall - One of our absolute favorite places in the world. Escape the heat & some of the smoke with the quick 2.5 hour drive north. Stay at the coveted Shorelodge, Hotel McCall or endless options of AirBnBs. Spend time on the water with a boat rental from Mile High Marina, kayaking or swimming in the no wake zone areas. Dine at the infamous My Father’s Place, while grabbing a treat from Ice Cream Alley afterwards- but be prepared to stand in a bit of a line for both. If you’re looking for hiking, biking or running trails- Brundage Ski Resort or The Bear Basin Trail system is our go-to!

Paddle Board at Arrowrock - The perfect weekend activity for a half day adventure! Who doesn’t love S.U.P? A short drive past Lucky Peak Reservoir, Arrowrock Reservoir is one of the more calm areas (less people + boats) to paddle board. It is not as popular as Diversion Reservoir or Discovery Park, but it is a little further. Explore coves, cliffs & beaches just a 45 minutes from Boise!

Coffee at Roosevelt Market + Hike Military Reserve - Sunrise is the best time to hike right now- you get the views, the beautiful colors & a little bit of cool air. Rosevelt Market has been a Boise staple for years. Located in the East End, it is just a quick walk from the Military Reserve Trails System. Grab your favorite latte with their homemade syrup flavors & go on a short or long hike in the foothills. Military Reserve also has a fun bike park & dog park… it’s a place where the whole family can enjoy!

Eats + Treats

Rustica - A restaurant to try out this week if you haven’t! This Italian cuisine took over the location of Juniper on 8th street. Influenced by both Spain & France, the owners of Wild Root decided to open these doors just a couple months ago. Their menu features wood-fired pizza, pasta & our favorite, their starters. Don’t leave without trying the Crispy Romesco Chicken, Chorizo on Toast & Rustica Truffle Fries. We are complete foodies & were blown away with these three appetizers. Also, their Happy Hour is not one to miss, daily from 4pm-6pm, 50% off cocktails, wine by the glass + draft beers.
