What We’d Do In Boise This Week…

Go Here - Dinner at Alyonka Russian Cuisine - You’ve probably driven by it a million times on State Street. It’s the cute little grey / blue building on the N corner next to Lowell Elementary School. It is a small space inside (does have a spacious patio), that being said I’d recommend making a reservation just to secure your spot! All of the food is cozy, comfort food… some of our favorites are the Assorted Pickled Vegetables, Assorted Blini Platter (pretty much crepes with delicious & savory toppings) & the “Golubsty” or Cabbage Rolls. Oh, and do NOT leave without ordering Alyonka’s Favorite for dessert, you can thank me later.

Do This - Spirit of Boise - One of the most iconic events in Boise! Pick a morning (or many) to head down to Ann Morrison & watch the hot air balloons take off this week. It is an amazing experience for the whole family that fills the Boise sky with color, magic & excitement. Local companies sponsor balloons & you can take it in from pretty much anywhere in the city, seeing them land in crazy places some years (Broadway avenue, on buildings, in front of the Capitol…). This is the best way to kick off ‘fall’ in Boise with the crisp mornings of Labor Day Weekend + a coffee in hand!

Move It - Idaho Central Aquatic Center - The Aquatic Center opened last summer to the public & we couldn’t wait to try it! We tried out their Baby Gills 30 minute class last week & had an absolute blast. The instructor was so helpful & encouraging- she gave us the confidence to try our first ‘dunk’ in the water with our 5 mont old daughter. They have lots of different offerings including pool passes for open swim, various swim classes for all ages & the Les Bois Swim Academy. Off The Field, one of the original sports performance gyms in Boise, also has a location in the center- their second location, making it easier for the East Boise families to invest in their kids training!
