A fun way for kids to build strength, confidence, and life skills!
We recently started taking Jackie to KidStrong once a week, and so far, we’ve had nothing but a positive experience!
If you haven’t heard of KidStrong, it’s a kids’ development program that combines physical activity with cognitive and character-building skills. Their goal is bigger than simply helping kids get stronger—they focus on helping kids become more confident, independent, resilient, and comfortable taking on new challenges.
One of the things we really like about KidStrong is that the classes aren't just about running around and getting exercise. Kids work on strength, coordination, balance, and agility, but they’re also practicing things like teamwork, problem-solving, focus, and communication.
Some of the social skills are built right into the class. Kids practice introducing themselves, making eye contact, shaking hands, and saying their name. Depending on their age, they can also work on public speaking, leadership, following directions, and taking on new challenges.
We love that these are skills kids can take with them outside of KidStrong, too. Building confidence in a fun environment can make trying something new—or simply speaking up in front of other people—a little easier.
KidStrong describes its philosophy as focusing on strong character, a strong body, and a strong mind. The idea is to give kids a foundation that goes beyond sports or fitness. Their classes are designed around age-appropriate activities that challenge kids physically while also encouraging creativity, problem-solving, confidence, resilience, and teamwork.
And the best part? They make it fun. Classes are only 45 minutes, and activities change as kids progress through the program. There are obstacle courses, games, physical challenges, competitions, and activities designed to keep kids moving and engaged.
KidStrong has locations in both Boise and Meridian, making it a convenient option for families around the Treasure Valley. The Boise location is in the Barber Valley area, while the Meridian location is on East Fairview Avenue.
For us, it’s been exciting to watch Jackie try something new each week and see how much goes into each class beyond simply getting some exercise. If you’re looking for a fun activity that works on the body, mind, and confidence all at the same time, KidStrong is definitely one to check out!
